18/00001 Shepherds Lawn West Road Goudhurst
Part Retrospective – Outdoor swimming pool and revised external works
Goudhurst Parish Council believes that the submitted plans are not acceptable. Whilst the proposed planting scheme appears to be reasonable as far as it goes, it will not compensate for the large amount of new build which is visible in long views. In order to improve the long views more planting of species, of a larger type when mature, should be included along the western boundary. The landscape officer should advise on this.
As regards the other revisions (external works), it is not possible to assess them as they are not highlighted on the submitted drawings.
18/00053 Stream Farm House Summerhill Goudhurst
Retrospective – Change of use of outbuilding from ancillary residential to offices
Since the unauthorised use of this building appears not as yet to have caused any adverse comment from neighbours or the highway authority, Goudhurst Parish Council is content that such use should continue
18/00115 Etchinghill Farmyard, Gore Lane, Goudhurst
Part Retrospective – Conversion of a building from storage of vehicles (Class B8) to a dwelling, and demolition of redundant buildings (amendment to planning application 16/501852/FUL to include basement and sunken courtyard to rear)
The amendments will have minimal impact on the locality and the AONB. Goudhurst Parish Council is therefore content that approval is granted.
18/00261 Trowswell Hill Cottage North Road Goudhurst
Part demolition, part extension and refurbishment including: Demolition of existing garage lean-to extension and replacement with new porch; Demolition of existing rear flat roof extension and replacement with new full width extension; Demolition of existing porch and chimneystacks; Existing cladding removed and replaced with additional insulation and new cladding
This proposal will have limited impact on the locality and the AONB and will considerably upgrade the property. Subject to officers confirming that the increase in volume complies with policy, Goudhurst Parish Council is content that approval is granted.

Subject to the views of the Tree Officer Goudhurst Parish Council is content that approval is granted.

The siting of this proposal is a well-screened location, where the impact on the locality and the AONB will be minimal. Goudhurst Parish Council is therefore content that approval is granted.

Erection of 2 No 4-bedroom dwellings with associated parking, landscaping and ancillary works
The committee re-considered this application in the light of the amended statement on 22 December 2018 from KCC Highways. Following full discussion, it was resolved to leave GPC’s comment as before; that was to recommend approval as detailed in Goudhurst Parish Council’s ‘Revised representation’ dated 12 December 2017.
