I summon you to a Meeting of the Highways Committee to be held at the Jessel Room, Goudhurst Parish Hall on Tuesday 25 June 2019 at 7.30pm when the following business will be considered: 

Members of the Public and the Press are welcome to attend this meeting.  At the Chairman’s discretion members of the public may be invited to speak for a maximum of 3 minutes each relating to items on the Agenda.  Please state your name and address prior to speaking.  Smoking is not allowed during Council meetings.  Please switch off mobile phones.

 AGENDA

This Agenda is to be taken in conjunction with the working Agenda notes from the Highways Committee Chairman (attached).

 

  1. Apologies for Absence as reported at the meeting.
  1. Declarations of Interest 

In accordance with Council’s Standing Orders, Members are reminded to declare any Personal or Prejudicial Interests relating to the business to be discussed.  

3. A21 Speed Limit Reduction

Members to review the attached documents and to agree on any proposals for approval by Council.

4. A262 Reclassification to B class 

To consider the strategy for the way to progress the implementation of this project.   

5. Council’s Meeting with Kent Highways Officers on 18 December 2018

To consider further points for action raised by Schemes Project Manager, Kent Highways (Fiona Paine) in her follow up memo to Council.  

6. Speed Limit reductions in the Iden Green (Goudhurst) and Green Cross areas.

a.To consider proposals relating to the Iden Green Village designation, 

b.Locations for speed and traffic volume surveys and 

c. To consider for Council’s consideration a possible request to Kent Police for a formal speed limit evaluation.

7. Electronic Vehicle Charging Points.

Chairman, Highways Committee to report on the progress made with this project.

8. Footways (Pavements)

a.To receive an update on the A262 Station Road verge maintenance.

b. To receive a report on the proposed path through the swale at the junction of Station Road and Blue Coat Lane and the request for extra funding from Fernham Homes.

c. Chairman to check with the owner of Little Meadow about the overgrown Permissive Path.  

9. Hop Pickers Line

a.To receive an update on the information panel near the old Goudhurst Station site.

b. To receive an update on the participation by Horsmonden Parish in the Hop Pickers Line project

c. To note that the next Hop Pickers Line meeting will be held on 16 July 2019 at St Mary’s Church, Goudhurst.

The next Highways Committee meeting will be held on 27 August 2019.
