Friday 21st September 2018 brings a unique opportunity to pay tribute to the men from Goudhurst and Kilndown who fell in the Great War 1914-18.
It takes the form of a one-day pilgrimage linking Goudhurst and Kilndown with the nightly ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial.
Permission has been obtained by the Goudhurst branch of the Royal British Legion for a wreath to be laid and for its Standard to be on parade.
Starting from Goudhurst, visits will be made to the graves of some of those named on Goudhurst and Kilndown’s war memorials, notable landmarks, and the battlefields where the Kent Regiments fought. There will be time for a “bring your own” picnic lunch and a stroll round Ypres. Dinner is included before the ceremony.
£75: includes all travel, dinner in Ypres, expert guides and a souvenir handbook. For more information, and to book, contact Peter Rolington (01580 212920).
