South East Water finishes work

Complex engineering work to replace 470 metres of burst-prone water mains in Goudhurst has been completed.
South East Water finished work on the £130,000 water main upgrade on Friday, 5 October.
A new valve to control the flow of water through the area’s vast underground network has also been installed to further reduce the risk of future leaks and bursts.
South East Water Project Manager, Jeremy Dufour, said: “We know roadworks can be inconvenient so I am really pleased to say that the road is now fully open.
“The team on site have worked very hard on this project which will secure our customers’ fresh drinking water supply for many years to come.
“I would like to thank local residents and road users for their patience and understanding while the temporary traffic lights were in place and am grateful to Goudhurst and Horsmonden parish councils for their support throughout the project.”
